Celebrating our 30th wedding
 anniversary in 2002.

Caught napping in 2004.

I was born in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, in the heart of the Potteries.  My father was a maintenance fitter and my mother was a primary schoolteacher.  I was educated at Friarswood County Primary School, Westlands Girls’ School and The Elms Technical College.

I then trained and qualified as a home economics teacher at Leeds, where I met John.  My first teaching post was at Larkmead School, Abingdon.  Then, when he returned from the US, I married John and we moved to Nottingham, where I taught for three years at Clifton Secondary School.

In 1975, Simeon was born in Nottingham and after moving to Aberystwyth in 1976, Benjamin and Anna were born.

When the children were becoming more independent I returned to the workforce by starting as a volunteer at Plas Lluest, a local Christian home for the learning disabled.  I continued there as a part-time cook and then as a support worker.

In 1996, I moved to work as an administrator in the personnel department at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth.  From 2002 I was employed there as a medical staffing officer.  And in July 2006 I gladly retired.

My hobbies include patchwork, knitting (revived by the arrival of grandchildren), gardening, swimming, boating and fishing.  Since retiring I have taken up watercolour painting again.

My e-mail address is ..... coming soon!
